![]() ![]() ![]() If this continues then I may have to stop using Firefox entirely. Including one browser-based game which recently changed their ad policy to allow malware. So I guess my questions are, what is causing this, and what can be done to fix it? Or even if anyone else has been having similar issues?ĮTA: Literally less than an hour after posting this, it seems that ads are now appearing on ALL sites which offer them. I briefly wondered if I might have somehow contracted malware that could disable uBlock, but it still works normally on Chrome, and my other extensions are all fine, so I honestly have no idea what might have happened. It won't let me click to any of the other tabs, nor will it allow me to actually update the Whitelist in any way, so I have no idea if any of the filters have been disabled or anything like that. Here's the kicker: when I go to the add-ons section of Firefox to change the settings, the uBlock options are "locked" onto the Whitelist tab. ABP features a quick setup, loading preset filter lists that allow. The entire browser has become significantly slower as a result, and I know it can't be my wifi as a whole because other desktop apps that use internet (Chrome, Discord, etc.) are perfectly normal. AdBlock Plus (ABP) is among the most popular ad blockers, with extensions available for Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Edge and Opera. Some pages are practically overflowing with pop-up or auto-refreshing ads on all sides. After this fresh start, the webpage loads as intended. ![]() Did I find a solution Yes: clearing all app data for firefox from Application settings. Not every single website, but for those that are, it's Bad™. Maybe some piece of code from ublock remains in current session. However, this past week, all the sudden lots of ads have been appearing on Firefox even when I haven't changed anything about the filters. I've had uBlock Origin installed on both Chrome and Firefox - I use both browsers for different purposes - for so long now I've lost track. ![]()
